Reporting a teacher for sexism/racism
hi! I’m a senior this year. last year I took a career travel class at a nearby school and had an awful experience with a teacher in my criminology class. he’s an ex cop teaching us about criminal justice ethics, but he would say all of this racist and sexist stuff, on top of pushing his maga views onto us. idc if you’re conservative or democratic or whatever, but your students shouldn’t know. In this case, he was saying some pretty awful things about immigrants.
I never experienced any racism (I’m white) but my friend did and bad. I’m a girl though, so I got a lot of sexist comments. it started in the beginning of the year. he’d come up to my desk (which he placed in front of his) and tell me to smile more while I took notes in a silent class. or it would be “show us that pretty smile.” that sort of thing. he would make comments about how distracting my skirt was. I just felt so disgusting. He also would do this thing where if a girl would bring in a drink he’d say such stereotypical things about girls about how we love shopping and how he’d love to cut up his wife’s credit card.
and that’s the thing about this wife. She’s the head of HR at the school. After anything offensive he’d say, hed follow it up with “oh but my wife is the head of HR, you can’t get me fired.”
its been a few months and I really want to report him, but I don’t know how to do it without bringing attention to my name. All of my classmates are taking the year 2 class, though I dropped it. What do I do?
