I thought my hard work wasn’t working. Maybe I was wrong.
Maybe the effort wasn't pointless after all.
For the past six months, I’ve been trying to live healthier.
I changed my diet, exercised regularly, and stayed consistent even when I didn’t really feel like it.
Then I got my health check results.
Honestly, I was disappointed.
Some of the numbers I was hoping to improve barely changed. A few even got worse.
For a moment, I thought:
“What was the point of all that effort?”
But recently, I joined a body-fat challenge at work.
A month ago, my body-fat reading was 22.8%.
This time, it was 20.2%.
What surprised me even more was that my weight had actually gone up.
I know home body-fat scales aren't perfectly accurate, so I’m not taking the number too seriously.
But it made me think.
Maybe progress isn't always visible in the numbers we're watching.
Maybe sometimes your body is changing in ways you don't notice until something gives you a different way to look at it.
I’m still frustrated about my health check results. But maybe my effort wasn't pointless after all.
Maybe I just wasn't looking at the right number.
