Having to Re-explain your loss to more people

Advice, Pls

Anyone else go through something similar? My mom passed away from cancer in July. I lost my job of 8 years in Spring due to funding. Some of my coworkers knew my mom was sick. I am social media contacts with 3-4 of my old coworkers. So I posted when she passed and they found out. I know at least 3 other coworkers found out through work and reached out. I was with my family in my hometown when this happened. And I liked the time away from the city I live in while grieving.

After 2 months I'm back in the city I live in trying to move forward with my life as best as I can. I'm starting to return to social activities, meet up with friends etc, move on professionally (I'm actuallt applying to grad school). I've had another former coworker reach out on LinkedIn and ask how my mom is doing.. so I had to explain again. I just feel a little tired of having to tell more people that she passed - I think this is also a mixed reaction cause I'm trying to move on from my old organization and those memories. Even though I valued the interactions with most of my old colleagues, I'm trying to get on with my life.

Anyone else have advice or tips?
