The death of Deepak Lodhi, also known as Rashik Dulari Sharan, a disciple of Sant Premanand Maharaj, is under investigation after he died following a fall from the fourth-floor terrace of an ashram in Vrindavan on Friday.

Police, who are currently treating the incident as suicide, said CCTV footage shows Sharan leaving his room around 10:25 am with bloodstains on his clothes, moving to the terrace and jumping at approximately 10:36 am.

Investigators have raised questions about events before the fall after reportedly finding a grinder in his room and discovering an injury to his private parts. The circumstances surrounding the injury remain unclear.

Sharan’s mobile phone has been sent for forensic examination to determine whether deleted chats, photographs, videos or other data can be recovered. His blood sample and CCTV footage have also been seized for examination.

Police said they have so far found no clear motive for the alleged suicide. Meanwhile, saints in Vrindavan have demanded a high-level investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death, with some also raising allegations about activities at the ashram.

The investigation is ongoing, with police awaiting forensic findings and further evidence.
