Need help with p0088 rattle

My friend has me fixing his 2014 honda accord sport for this knocking rattle. Car has p0088 code. He thought it was the high pressure fuel pump (HPFP), he got it replaced with oreillys #GDP507. Still p0088, still rattles. Then he had his timing done. Still rattles with p0088 code. I put a stethoscope on it and the sound is isolated at the HPFP. I pulled the pump, the roller and cam lobe both feel smooth, no pitting. Replaced everything, still has p0088 code and isolated rattle at HPFP.

Is the pump defective?
