Making my own private server with AI, I'm in awe.

Title. I'm in absolute awe with opus 5.5. Never played wow, wanted to try private servers for a long time to explore the world in an RPG style but didn't like that the world was empty with NPCs not talking, even tho it had so much potential.

I downloaded everything I wanted, like playerbots with local AI (mod-pbc) that never pass my level except 20% of them, transmog, individual progression, etc, etc... a lot more things. First I asked him to tell me everything I needed to download in order to achieve that. Then he one shoted the whole instalation, even fixing some bugs he saw.

Then I asked him to go zone for zone and give every NPC something to say. Most flavour text based on the lore, but some NPCs have also a story to tell, you can select options to ask to a lot of them, etc... Zone by zone, thousands of NPCs touched. It took some more due to session limits but he did. Also rewrote almost every single fetch quests not story related to be something more than "kill 10 wolves", which is easy since now most NPCs have a personality, some are friends, some are husband and wife, etc... And they talk about it. Wanted to give it a vibe between Tales of and Elder Scrolls (except NPCs have no routine and stand still, didn't change that, so more like Tales of) Is it Shakespeare tier dialogue? Obviously not, but I would say it would get a pass compared to most rpgs writing. You can also tweak it to make it more funny, more lore adjacent, etc, etc...

Then I got the recently opensourced arenas of Centurion and the maps around them and he extracted them from the whole pack and seamlessly introduced them into my server (and also did the same with a lot of araxia server content that was not ready to be a direct instalation and have to fix things, move IDs, merge dbzs...)

Now I'm planning to do a whole campaign around those arenas like the RPG I always wanted to play. The only problem is it has problems putting npcs in the game world because he don't know the coordenates so it created a script and I go in game typing in chat every time I'm in a place where a NPC. I run across the whole map pinging where there should be an npc and I can also indicate what kind of NPC goes anywhere. Already did the first part, it's one of the Centurion arenas and the town around it. A mistery story where you climb the ladder starting at rank 20 (if you win you go up, if you lose you go down and play vs the guy you won the combat before), some fighters dissapear, nobody knows where the guy who won the championship 17 (yeah IK) years in a row went, and so on. Because I told the AI to get inspiration from that Paper Mario TTYD chapter. Also every fighter has a personality and some gimmick in the fight, the whole town has a whole culture about the arena... Once he knew where he could put the NPCs with the ping command, he oneshotted everything once again. The hundreds of NPCs dialogue, every fighter, sidequests, everything. I got a bug so I told it to revise the code without saying anything more, and he fixed it. And if I get other bugs again I'm fairly sure I can fix it in a couple of minutes.

So yeah, if you always wanted to try something but was too scared because of the technical complexity, just try it. To create text, having to look into the lore and such, it can burn a lot of tokens, but for technical things like installing LLM bots, etc... it uses nothing. With around 30% of the weekly usage of the 18€/month tier it got everything right, even the external maps.

Yeah, I know I sound like the guy who just discovered frontier AI models and now that's my whole personality, and it's somewhat true. But holy shit, never thought I could do whatever I wanted in a videogame. If you are on the verge of setting up your own 3.3.5a private server, I think that you should just try it. I was going to write this under the post who made some graphical improvements with Opus 5.5 but got so big that I think I would make a new post. The people who is also doing this, what are you adding? I'm looking for ideas to make it more single player rpg.
