TIFU by notarizing myself

S

Sometimes I(37M)will do something without thinking about it.

My fiancée (34f )officially became a notary recently, and today her stamp finally came in the mail.

I work from home, so apparently she had been waiting for me to go on break so she could open it and show me. The second I came out, she was all excited, opened the package, pulled out the stamp, and handed it to me.

Now, in my defense, nobody explained that there was going to be sentimental value attached to the FIRST stamp.

I saw a stamp.

I had a hand.

So naturally, within approximately 0.4 seconds, I stamped my hand.

The look on her face immediately told me I had fucked up.

She just stared at me and said, “I can’t believe you just took my first stamp from me.”

Oh.

Oh no.

Apparently I had just stolen a milestone.

I had about 20 minutes left on my break, so I immediately left the house and went into full emergency boyfriend mode.

I came back with flowers, chocolate, a soda, a spring roll, and an apology card.

She read the card. She was happy. I thought I had successfully recovered from The Notary Incident of 2026.

But there was still one thing left to do.

I looked at her and said, “The apology isn’t official yet.”

Then I handed her the stamp.

She stamped the apology card.

So technically, yes, I stole my fiancée’s first-ever notary stamp.

But her first intentional stamp was used to officially certify my apology for stealing her first stamp.

The card is apparently being kept forever.

My hand has been pardoned.

TLDR:I stole my fiancé first stamp milestone and replaced it with a memory.
