I hate being a somewhat "slutty" person in a more conservative school.
okay. So only a few weeks in, not even October yet, Ive already had a few flings. All consenting, I never cheated on anybody, and all were appropriate ages for I, as a lowerclassman, to be dating, personally, so I think it's all good. I thought all experiences were decent. Im not letting it get in the way of my grades Im not ashamed of being an openly sort of slutty person, but apparently some people have a problem with it? Ive dealt some creepy guys, that happens, I make sure to handle it in a mature way by either turning them down politely and if it turns into blatant harassment bad, report them. But my real problem is the slut shaming. I go to a non-religious school but most of the students here are Christian. So conservative guys coming up to me and asking me really uncomfortable questions in the middle of class, the weird side eyes from other girls, not all fun. Some friends telling me that it's "not normal" to be doing this much so early in the year and I need to stop doing stuff with people, and my parents criticizing me as well, particularly for what I wear, but Im keeping my grades up and everything is healthy and consensual, so is there actually an issue with what Im doing? I mean... Its high school. Im at the age where most people start experimenting with sexuality. Of course this stuff is bound to happen, this isn't middle school. Im sorry, if you made it this far, this was just a sort of vent about my experience but some advice from the girls in similar situations would be really nice, thank you.
