Is it a Good Idea That I'm Considering Moving Across the Country?

So, I guess I'll preface this by saying that I've been (mostly) closet transgender for far too long. I tried coming out to family years ago, went poorly, and it put me back in the closet for years. I sort of accepted that I was going to push those feelings really deep down inside and just live my life. And for a long while, I was really just going through the motions in my daily life.

Then, I met someone. Who accepted that I wasn't so typically gender-conforming. Who was trans herself and probably more supportive of that side of me than anyone else I've ever met. Now, of course, this may have just been online, but it quickly became a friendship that truly means the world to me. It has reached a point where she is certainly not a stranger and I feel safe with her. And, that's when I got the offer. The "hey, my two trans friends need a roommate and I really think you'd get along!"

I've met them now as well. Very nice people. And the idea of me moving there has become very serious. But, it is a ridiculously far move. One coast of the US to the other. I don't know what to do. It's not that I think these people have bad intentions - I know enough to genuinely trust them. But it's huge. I've never moved so far. I'm an only child of parents who wouldn't have someone in the area to look after them anymore, unless like a cousin of mine helped out or something. It feels like an incredibly selfish decision. Which is a kind of decision I am awful at making. But the only other option is to let go of hope and go back to going through the motions in my daily life. And imagining that hurts. A lot.

I know it's a longshot, but I'm hoping anyone on here might have some level of insight. I haven't taken the idea of moving my entire life lightly. But I'm really scared of this being my one chance at happiness and letting it pass by.
