Is a 2.2 year age gap alright as teens?

Some girl asked me out, I turned 18 3 months ago and I asked her age, she said 16 so we were chatting for a little until I realised 16 could mean freshly 16 or almost turning 17. So I asked her when did she turn 16 and she said last month. I was with my friend and he told me that some people would think bad of it so I’m in a situation where I don’t know if it’s wrong or not. Most people I asked said 2 years is completely fine but my friend told me that some people would look at it odd. It’s legal where I’m from but that’s not exactly what I’m concerned about. Any advice (from a mature grown up) appreciated.
