How to discern between potential dates

So here’s the scoop, there’s a few girls I met this summer, let’s call them A and B. I met both in a shared group. I don’t think they’re the closest with each other but certainly know each other. Both being attractive women my age, naturally I considered the possibility of asking someone out.

I asked for A’s number and started texting a couple weeks ago. It’s been okay, things have gone fine but nothing obviously showing she’s interested in me. Yesterday, B was in my DMs starting a conversation. I wasn’t gonna read into it, but she said she’d “love to get to know me better.” Kinda seems like obvious interest to me.

I feel like I’m in a tricky spot. I had full intention to ask A out soon, I thought she’d say yes. But, I have a hard time walking away from an opportunity where it seems clear that a girl is interested in me (B). If A actually is interested, but taking it slow I feel like it could be hurtful to stop showing interest and get with somebody else soon after, especially a mutual connection.

Yeah, I don’t know what to do, but I gotta figure it out soon
