Any advice is appreciated
Hi! I am looking for advice so any is appreciated.
I’m 23F and currently have a business degree. I chose business because I did not have any passions at the time and I didn’t know what I wanted to do so I just chose it because it seemed broad and I thought I’d be able to take it everywhere with me. But now I’m filled with regrets
Ever since I’ve graduated (2 years ago), I cannot for the life of me land a good job. Corporate or even office job. I was able to get an office 9-5 job, but I left after a couple months bc it was a small toxic family business and I was getting underpaid and there were no growth opportunities.
I decided to work at a restaurant for like 2 months where I made damn near the same if not more than I did at this office job while working wayyyy less hours and had so much free time.
But I quit the restaurant job because I went on vacation for like 1 month and it was kind of taxing in my body lol (I was a food runner).
Now I’m working a receptionist job at a dental office for only $1 more hourly than my old office job.
I know I don’t wanna do this forever, this office job receptionist life, so that’s why I chose to pursue radiography. After countless hours working on my application, I just got told today from the school they’re no longer offering the program anymore, and that they don’t know when they will. They said MAYBE the end of next year. I’m like okay maybe this isnt meant to be, I strongly believe everything happens for a reason and the fact I’m not that upset over it but more so about the fact I spent so much time on my essay made me realize it’s not my dream career.
But I’m thinking of it like this. What career options that aren’t nursing and radiography offers 3x12 hour shifts? I really liked that aspect when researching a career in radiography and that was what reeled me in. But with how coeotiive radiography is, I just don’t wanna waste time anymore on it. Is there any other programs or careers that offer 3x12s that’s fulfilling? I don’t wanna keep staring at a screen 8 hours of my day, five times a week, for low pay, for the rest of my life.
I feel like I’m in a quarter life crisis right now because I’m lost on what I wanna do, I have no passions, my family is peer pressuring me into doing nursing, but I really just don’t wanna do nursing seriously. It’s also competitive to get into too, so I just don’t wanna do that route.
Please any advice is appreciated. Thank you :)
Man I’m about to marry a rich guy and just be a stay at home mom that works like once a week. Just kidding, a girl can only dream lol.
