Hand-Tying one or two lures for my Dad.
My Dad is a huge fan of fly fishing, and once received hand-tied flys from a close friend, and he takes extraordinary care of them. Sooo......
I would like to make one or two flys for him for Christmas. I know Christmas is in two months or so, but I don't want to give him a half-assed fly on Christmas morning because I misjudged how long it would take to make a two real, working flys.
I am 17, and I can't buy any kits to help as I have no car (or money) and asking him to drive me to the store to buy that, would ruin the surprise. I have thread of different colors, sewing needles of all different sizes, feathers, hooks, a fly-tying vise, pliers, small tipped scissors, and tiny-ish needle nose pliers. Will that be enough, or do I absolutely need a fly-tying kit?
Any advice is welcome, and needed.
Thank you!!!
