Moving from LA to Seattle for work—where should I live?
Currently live in Glendale and like the relative quiet. But find myself often in Highland Park, Silver Lake, Echo Park, Los Feliz, Atwater. I drive but would like to do less of that in Seattle if possible. I like the arts, movies, music, karaoke. I guess I'll also learn to love nature stuff I want wherever I live to feel maybe a little less sleepy and suburban and more the analog to one of the neighborhoods. Looking to rent an apartment or condo. Budget is $4500 or so. Moving in about two months.
Will be working downtown near central library. Having public transportation access to my office is a must.
My work suggested Belltown, Capitol Hill, Green Lake as areas with public transportation access. Queen Anne seems cool too but idk if there's public transport too.
Based on my research, it seems like somewhere a few blocks into Capitol Hill might be a good fit.
I'm 36-years-old / single / no kids if that factors into anything, but I really don't care how young or old my neighbors are.
