Lost Keys

I lost a set of Subaru keys around 8 months or so ago. I called the police when it happened but I can't remember if I filed a report or just inquired if anyone turned them in. I check facebook/kijiji periodically, but is there any other major lost and found place I should be checking?

I lost them downtown near city hall, but I assume if they had been turned in there, they would have eventually ended up at the police station? I've never been able to afford to replace them and it had my remote start fob so I'm doing one last ditch effort to locate them before winter. Kind of hoping someone found them later than when I called around or forgot to actually turn them in somewhere. Does the police have a cutoff for disposing of these types of items of turned in?
