What do you wear for fall cycling in Buffalo if you hate synthetic fabrics?
I’m not a serious cyclist or anything. I’ve just been riding casually for several years, and I recently moved to Buffalo. This will be my first fall and winter here, so I’m still trying to figure out what kind of weather I can realistically ride in.
I also do not own any cycling specific clothing. Part of the reason is that I really dislike the feel of synthetic fabrics. I almost never wear polyester or other plastic feeling materials because I’m so used to natural fibers and they just feel uncomfortable against my skin.
I am not planning to ride through heavy snow or extreme cold. I would just like to keep riding for as much of the fall as possible, and maybe on the nicer and drier days in early winter.
Does anyone have recommendations for clothing that works well for Buffalo fall riding without feeling too plasticky? Wool, merino, cotton blends, or anything else you have had good luck with?
I’m especially curious about jackets and outer layers since I assume wind is going to be the biggest issue.
