Is this bad?
So I did the Stanford Pre-Colligate Institutes, and my dad paid around $3,200 for this. I got in, and the evaluation came in, and these are what I noticed:
Good things in the evaluation
- Successfully completed a Stanford Pre-Collegiate Summer Institutes course.
- The evaluation explicitly says admission to and completion of the program demonstrate "exceptional academic ability and intellectual curiosity."
- "Active Engagement: Always."
- Consistently participated in discussions.
- Contributions were described as thoughtful, constructive, and respectful.
- Collaborated well with peers.
- Instructor says I provided insightful perspectives during discussions.
- Described as a reliable and positive collaborator.
- Final project demonstrated a comprehensive understanding of the subject.
- Final project was described as well-organized, researched, clear, and compelling.
- "Final Projects, Presentations, and Assignments: Often" rather than rarely or never.
Bad things in the evaluation
- "Skill Development" was marked as "Sometimes" rather than "Often" or "Always."
- Instructor says I demonstrated "minimal growth in critical thinking and subject-specific problem-solving."
- Assignments were submitted late.
- I did not complete the Day 3 Check-in.
- Instructor says the late assignments and missed check-in made it harder to track my progress through the course.
And I'm only panicking because my dad thinks it's now useless and he spent a crap ton of money for no reason, and I'm worrying because he's upset and he spent a bunch of money.
This is coming from a 16 year old junior is that helps anyone at all.
Please let me know!!!
