Getting back into dating after a break, but still thinking about a girl from months ago

So months ago, I (30M) went on a date with this girl (30M) I met on Hinge. The first date was a nice coffee date with good conversation. Then, right before our 2nd date she told me she was going through some stuff and wasn't ready to see anyone right now. I respectfully wish her well and go on my way.

Then she randomly texts me two weeks later saying she was appreciative of how respectful I was to her and her situation, and that she promised to be better at communicating her feelings this time around if I was open to seeing her again. I (maybe foolishly) agreed and we had a nice 2nd date at an arcade and had some drinks. I really liked her. We were very compatible in terms of personality, and conversation was very easy in person and we had lots in common.

Long story short, while she seemed to genuinely express interest in seeing me again, and agreed to a time and place, she ended up cancelling the 3rd date hours before with a weak excuse and I pretty much told her "no biggie, if you ever want to meet up again, let me know". Now I made it pretty obvious that the ball is in her court and if she really wanted to go out again, she would reach out. I fully recognize that. While I went on some dates with other women immediately following this, I ended up taking a 2 month break from dating apps.

I now feel ready to start talking to people again, but I can't get this particular girl out of my head. My mind keeps going through the what ifs and making up dream scenarios of what things could have been if we just gave it a little more time. I also have OCD which makes it even more challenging to suppress these thoughts.

I think her push/pull really fucked with my head here, along with the fact that I never got any direct closure and its leaving the door open in my mind. I honestly would have preferred she just told me outright that were not a good match and be done with it.

Any advice on how to get over the ones that seemed so perfect at the time, but just faded for no obvious reasons, and with no real direct closure? Does it simply take time?
