US College scholarships

So many US college scholarships going to international players. (And not just soccer...in many of the Olympic sports).

It seems odd that we are collectively stopping the ongoing youth development at 17 or 18 years of age.

Not sure if its because club affiliation doesnt have any association to colleges, if US Soccer cant coordinate, if the NCAA is just so fractured and lack of structure that the foreign free for all to recruit just makes quicker wins available.

But for such a domestically fast growing sport just to end for so many participants seems wrong.
