upside down in my car

Auto

I have a 2018 nissan sentra sv with about 130,000 miles. The car drives fine but there is major cosmetic damage to the front and minor scratches on the side. The cars gear shift is also permanently stuck requiring me to stick a pin in to unlock it. I’ve been stuck about two times on the road due to a transmission issue that I replaced and then a broken tps sensor that didn’t alert me of a flat tire.

The car is worth basically nothing more than $600 according to nissan, chevrolet, carvana, etc. I will eventually soon need a new car as I am constantly driving and need a reliable vehicle. I’ve been getting advice to let my credit union repossess it (a voluntary repossession) and get a new car. The problem is my credit is poor about a 559 and the dealerships want $5k down or for me to pay off my car. I feel like I’m out of options besides hoping the car doesn’t break and pay it off as much as possible. I don’t have gap insurance and insurance never repaired the initial fender due to inaccurate information( i was on my moms and she stated that I live at home but I have an apartment for college)

Now i’m just upside down making car payments for the next 4 years. I’m only 20 years old and feel like I failed and ruined my credit already. Any advice would be greatly appreciated
