Should i join the cult of UniFi?

Looking to setup a few switches around the house and the UniFi Flex series look to be what I'm after.​ Since they can be PoE powered and​ have VLAN support. No WiFi at this time or the near future.

I have heard people raving about all the UniFi stuff and I've heard horror, very much so in corporate settings.

I suppose I can stomach hosting the controller software if works and give me a single pane of glass to manage the switches.

Looking for feedback from others who have used these in their home or elsewhere so I can avoid any nasty surprises if I join the cult of UniFi.
