I like the Sanctum scoring but here are the issues:

Discussion

Random on Random: random deck, random Sanctum location. The player has less control, hence has less fun. There is a sweet spot between luck and skill, and this is not it. The main skill you need in this mode at the moment is not playing a deck, but navigate uncertainty.

Snowball effect: given the augments, in Draft matches there is inherent snowballing of power and combos. With Sanctum scoring is way harder to recover from a weak start. It's anticlimactic and more predictable, hence it reduces the "gamble" effect of classic Snap. Players care less if they feel they don't have a chance.

Repetitiveness: every turn you do the same thing: either snap and push Sanctum if you have it, or go for the other location in which you're not winning (if you're not winning any, you probably already lost the match).

Location effects are less impactful: it doesn't matter if it's a "after turn 5, give -2 power to cards here" location: if it's a Sanctum, you need to play there anyway. There is less efficient planning on locations since you are forced to care less about them.

Overall I feel it's more luck based than previous Draft, the player has less control, and less control means you care less about the outcome since what you do feels less impactful.

Original Draft made me feel like a God, this makes me feel like a medieval peasant at the mercy of events.
