Stop saying you love your kids but hate being a parent

😤 Vent

These two things are fundamentally opposed. If you loved your child, you would at least LIKE taking care of them. Obviously there are moments where you get stressed out and exhausted, but some of y'all come on here saying that you hate pretty much every aspect of being a parent. You hate the responsibility, you hate having to tend to someone else's needs, you hate your life being interrupted, if you could go back in time you wouldn't have kids, and you hate it all the time.....

but you love your kids.

Really? cause it sounds like you hate them. You are actively fantasizing about a world where you don't have them. You don't want to take care of them, you don't want to hang out with them, you don't want to modify your life. So you very obviously do not like having children.

I don't know why it's okay to say this about kids. If I said to my best friend "I hate being your friend, but I love you," the friendship is over on the spot, because if I actually loved them, I would love being their friend and everything that comes with it, even the bad. What I SHOULD have said was "I loved the old version of you, but now you're inconveniencing me too much and I want out."

What did you think was going to happen when you had kids. Had you never met a child before? Have you never been on the internet in the past 15 years? Because all anyone is talking about is how much they hate parenting. I truly do not know what you expected. At this point, if you hate everything about being a parent, be honest with yourself and everyone else and just say you don't love your kids. You know, the ONLY reason you are a parent.
