Is this common in meghalaya?
While travelling I at several places felt I was being ignored.
one instance near sohra-shillong highway, I was trying to buy clothes one lady was selling, I said hello and asked about clothes in english and sign language, but despite telling them multiple times, they didn't even look at me, I could see they were trying to ignore me deliberately, I left from the place.
Same thing happened 2 times at roadside kong shops, These were small eateries, and I entered asked if I could have food, again.. everybody doing there usual business just outright trying to ignore I was standing there.
This was first time I felt anything like this, Like they could have said no but they ignored to acknowledge a person is asking something, It was very humiliating.
So I wanna know what was the reason for this?? are outsiders not welcome? Was it because I look different? (I am from Rajasthan)
What could possibly be the reason:? and is this common practice?
