Melee Hunter in Forever
Finished leveling a surv hunter to 20, 14 hr 55 min. Could have gone faster as I did a bunch of exploring, but it was very smooth.
Survival hunters perform better than warrior because you're never resource starved. But worse than ret paladin because you need setup and positioning. To be optimal, you will weave in and out of melee and range. To do this you will want a slow swing weapon, closer to 3s the better.
Talents were 0/4/7 - 4/5 in Lethal attacks, 5/5 improved tracking, 2/2 savage strikes. Pet does too much damage to take advantage of deflection even though it's a high value, it's actually a waste. Alternative is full MM - Lethal Attack, Efficiency, Lonewolf.
Mongoose Strike is not good. It proccs very rarely, as by the time an enemy starts hitting you, they’re at 60-50% hp. Bosses won't be attacking you, making this a near useless ability. I recommend switching Savage Strikes and Exposed prey on the Talent Sheet, this would at least give mongoose bite use on bosses. Or if no talent changes, put the ability on a 12s cd, but resets when you dodge an attack.
Overall it's an ok spec for dungeons, and not particularly special for questioning. However it felt the most fun to play of the specs because it forced you to be active.
