Now before I dive into Halloween ends, i need to clarify that I adore 2018 and kills, that context is going to matter. Yes kills has its fair share of problems, I can admit that but I still have so much fun when I revisit it, I love seeing Michael Myers unleashed and just running a blood soaked rampage in the town of haddonfield, i feel like we didn't get enough of that in 2018 so it was awesome to see kills really deliver with that and it was balls to the wall absolute good gory fun, despite its problems, Halloween kills is a fun turn off your brain kind of movie for me. Logic goes out the window when this movie is on (just like the escaped mental patient the mob was chasing in the hospital) but the fun is dialed up to 11. 2018 is the one sequel that has come the closest to capturing the subtle dread that the original movie captured. I love 2018 and kills, but when Halloween ends came out and i saw it in theaters, I hated it! Like absolutely loathed it's very existence, I thought it was an insult to the characters and the 40 plus year legacy these movies have created. For years I called ends "the worst Halloween movie". But now 4 years later I rewatched it for the first time since I saw it in theaters, I wanted to rewatch it to make fun of it with my wife because she saw Halloween ends with me in theaters and she hated it too, so we put it on to remember how bad it was. I don't know what changed but I didn't hate it anymore, I was waiting for the shit to hit the fan and say "ok there's the point I remember it getting bad at." But no, I was entertained throughout the whole movie, I still really like Cory and his story, I still wish they went all the way with it and made him the new Michael Myers, but I still really enjoyed watching him again and I even turn to my wife and said "This isn't as bad as I remember." Sge agreed with me and said "Right? Why were we shitting on it so much?" Now I want to clarify that I definitely don't think it's as good as 2018 or kills, but I really appreciate what they were trying to do and they did something different and I'm thankful they did. The last 2 movies focused on the Laurie and Michael so it was nice to see them try something different that just wasn't a repeat of what we already saw. I still can't say "Halloween ends is a good Michael Myers movie" but what I can say is "Halloween ends is a good movie that has Michael Myers in it." That's my new take on Halloween ends, it's still not a good Michael Myers movie but it IS a good movie that has Michael Myers in it. It's still not what I wanted for the final chapter in the blumhouse trilogy but I really appreciate that they were trying something different, if i had known that ahead of time before i saw it in theaters I think I would have been more forgiving towards it back then. Now I've softend up towards it and appreciate it for what it is, and it's still better than rob zombies Halloween 2.

My opinion has indeed changed 4 years later.
