Where to start?

I'm coming to makeup later in life than most, because it was a really fraught thing growing up, but I am mesmerized by all the beautiful products and tools here! I just have no idea what all these specialized things are (what's a kabuki brush for, what is this scented cornstarch for, why is this compact setting powder five different separate colors, etc) and rather than make 1,000 posts, I'd love a good resource to just understand the basics. Because I'm realizing I don't know what the basics even are. I just don't want to be assaulted with ads or AI stuff.
