Does anyone else get really anxious about lab?
I’m taking cem255 this semester and I’ve started dreading it every week. Even thinking about the next lab makes me anxious. My hands get cold and shaky, I feel physically uncomfortable, and I can’t stop worrying about what might go wrong.
I do well in lecture courses and have a high GPA, but I’ve never felt confident doing experiments. I prepare before every lab, yet once I’m there, I still struggle to figure out exactly what to do. My group members haven’t been very helpful, and the TA seems busy, distant, and strict, so I feel uncomfortable asking questions.
I’ve seen on MSU Score that most students get a 4.0 in this course if they attend, but knowing that hasn’t eased my anxiety. I’ve already lost points on my lab notebook, and the TA entered a score without explaining what I did wrong. Now I’m worried I’ll keep making mistakes without knowing how to improve.
Has anyone else gives me some advises so that I can survive from this course😭
