Am I wrong to be upset with my mom?

We have been going through a lot right now and I occasionally crochet projects and I had this one almost half way done that I started back up today determined to give it too my mom to make her happy but after an almost Non-Stop crocheting from Sun to sunset and I finally give it to her she takes it and said she loves it but then just tossed it away.

Like she was laying on the couch and just tossed it by her feet.

And what makes me more upset is that I know if I gave it to my dad he would hold onto it or at least carefully put it down somewhere near him in a safe spot
