Im a game dev who doesnt like a lot of the AAA games I work on and have lost the spark I had. What new games should I play to get back into gaming?

I (20M) got into game development by doing internships with a couple game studios and slowly grew to get a legitimate job with those companies. Ive miraculously managed to keep my job over the past year even through the constant lay offs.

For privacy reasons, I wont go into the specific studios I work with but the games I work on have started to grow extremely repetitive, always over the shoulder, always basic gunplay or hack and slash. Not that those types of games are bad, im just really tired of being around them, testing them, building them, and im just looking for something more layed back and interesting, something that does gaming different.

My computer is about as good as it gets consumer/indie dev wise, I wont go into specifics, just know I can run anything lol.

All recommendations are appreciated, just no smut.
