Weight loss before surgery

Has anyone’s surgeon wanted them to lose weight before surgery? I’m 36F, 5’9” and 215 lbs. obviously have some to lose, but he said I need to lose 50-60lbs before he considers THR. I’m in sooooo much pain and I don’t know how much longer I can put surgery off even without the weight loss. Has anyone’s doctor put them on a GLP-1 for similar reasons? TIA!
