Good solution for switching between two offices in the same house

I'm trying to figure out how I can use one PC to be able to switch mid task between two desks. This would be two setups in opposite corners and separate floors of the same house, but on different floors. Could I use a kvm and run an Ethernet between them? Or is there a better way?
