I feel like Majorian and Stilicho were underappreciated

With an empire in decline, they were able to achieve a lot with very little resources. Less than half the population was actual Romans at this point. Corruption, inflation, low birth rate and other factors played a part. But these 2 guys were brave, solid and capable. Like...how the heck did Stilicho always manage to muster up just enough fighting men to react to wars on Rome's borders. Then Majorian...that poor guy gave it ALL for his country and paid the ultimate price. Shackled, tortured and executed by others who resented his popularity and capabilities. What do u guys think?
