Just getting started

Hi all!!

I was a bigtime alcoholic and addict through my 20s into my 30s, never had more than 1k to my name and ZERO financial literacy.

Pulled myself up by my bootstraps, sober and been steadily working for the past 6 years. Finally got a decent salary and coming up on 10k in my savings just from my work earnings and really feel like I need to do something more with it.

While I was using, I was into stocks and crypto but more as a gambling service, and had the expected results. I have been lurking investing subs for a while now but everything seems like a scam and I'm really not sure where to start.

I'm reading here that ETF's would probably be a good spot, but I'm having trouble even deciding on the best route to get in on them..... Probably better ways than cash app(used to gamble on stocks there)

Any TRUSTED guides or places I should start studying? Again, I just can't shake the feeling that I'm going to get screwed by a scam or predation or any other multitude of things that I read about/has happened to me already.
