struggling with ED, low sexual desire, and premature ejaculation since my late teens. Has anyone experienced something similar?
Hey everyone, I’m 25M, and I wanted to share my experience and get some advice from people who have gone through something similar.
My problems started when I was around 18–19 years old, when I had my first sexual encounter. Initially, everything was good, and I didn’t have any major issues. However, after some time, while I was still in that relationship, I started noticing that my erection quality was getting worse.
I became concerned about it and started relying on Viagra whenever I had sex. I didn’t take it excessively, but whenever sex happened, I would sometimes take it because I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to perform properly without it. My girlfriend encouraged me to try having sex without it, and sometimes I could, but my erection quality was still inconsistent.
The last time I had sex before recently was when I was around 22, and I took Viagra then as well. After that, I went almost three years without having sex.
Since my previous long-term relationship ended, I’ve also been going through a lot of emotional turmoil. I’m not sure whether it is related to that or to something else, but I feel like my sexual desire has almost disappeared. I often don’t feel like having sex at all, and I’m unsure whether this loss of libido is connected to my past relationship, my emotional state, my erection concerns, or another underlying issue.
Fast-forward to last week. I was intimate with a girl I had been talking to, and I took Viagra again because I was anxious about my erection quality.
Here’s what actually happens to me:
- During foreplay, I can get an erection. It’s not always as firm as I would like, but it's generally okay.
- However, when I try to penetrate, I start losing my erection. It feels like my erection disappears at the exact moment I need it most.
- I also struggle with premature ejaculation, which makes the whole situation even more frustrating.
- Because this has happened repeatedly, I’ve become increasingly conscious about my performance, especially when I'm with someone new.
- In general, I also feel that my interest in sex has become much lower than it used to be.
For additional context, I am somewhat obese, and I wonder whether my weight could be contributing to the problem.
At this point, I genuinely don't know what's causing it. Is it performance anxiety, emotional stress after my past relationship, a physical issue, the result of occasionally relying on Viagra, low libido, or a combination of factors?
I want to get to the root of the problem rather than keep relying on medication every time I have sex. I’m also unsure what kind of professional I should consult. Should I see a sexologist, urologist, mental-health professional, or someone else? What would be the best next step, and what evaluations or tests should I consider?
I'd really appreciate advice from people who have experienced something similar:
Has anyone experienced losing their erection specifically when transitioning from foreplay to penetration, even when they could get an erection during foreplay? I’m also wondering whether performance anxiety or emotional stress could be contributing, especially since I’m dealing with erectile dysfunction, low sexual desire, and premature ejaculation. If you’ve experienced something similar at a young age, what helped you improve? Could obesity or the end of a long-term relationship have contributed to a drop in sexual desire, and would you recommend seeing a urologist, sexologist, therapist, or another specialist?
I'm open to hearing about personal experiences, things that helped, and what I should consider doing next. I would genuinely appreciate any constructive advice.
