Should I reach out someday?

Relationships / Dating

Early on in the summer I met a girl on HER that took my breath away. During the talking stage, we discovered so many common interests and little things and we were both really into each other. The conversations were amazing, some of the best I've ever had. Date 1 went great and we were both really excited to meet up again. Date 2 we went to an arcade and it was really loud and overwhelming for me (ADHD), but I thought it went okay. She told me she wasn't feeling anything romantic for me though so we just tried to be friends. We hung out a couple more times after that, and caught a movie.

2 things happened. First, I caught feelings a bit as I realized the things I really liked about her. And second, communication gradually became slower. We used to message throughout the day, and then her responses slowed to once or twice per day, and then once every couple of days, and then once a week. She would always apologize and say she was busy with different things, and when she did respond she would put in a LOT of effort, sending a few paragraphs with the same energy she always had, and asking follow-up questions etc. so it didn't let it bother me. But that effort sort of stopped too, and she wasn't really initiating any hangouts or communication or anything. It got to the point where I'd text something on monday, get a response the next monday, I'd reply same day and ask something, and not hear back for another week.

I sent a text explaining how sad I felt about all of this and that I was going to step away. And I removed her from socials. She read it and didn't respond. She still checks my instagram stories every now and then, which.. idk. (I unfollowed and removed her as a follower)

So where I'm at right now is that part of me feels kinda bad. She didn't really do anything wrong, and I think I acted a bit impulsively. I felt like my own feelings were getting in the way and I wanted to look out for myself. Should I reach out sometime in the future, maybe in a few months or on her birthday or something? Or just let her go?
