Cities like Urbana, IL- elsewhere?

Urbana is a neat place, & I was wondering if anyone knows of any other cities that have that same vibe.
Specifically, that artsy/community-oriented/laid-back & accepting culture.
Out of state recs welcome. I'd love to live somewhere similar after graduating, but I can't take another Illinois winter...
