Why does my PS3 hate L.A Noire?

I bought an old copy of the game a while ago and I couldn’t get past the very start of the game (where you investigate the crime scene) without my PS3 crashing.
I assumed it was that disc that was the problem, but when I bought another copy the same thing happened. And they were basically different games too cause this one was the complete edition. What do I do? It might not have anything to do with overheating because the fans sounded perfectly fine. Thank you
