Does anyone here know how to unlock Wes from Don’t Starve?

I (31 m) know that this is a subreddit for general life advice, but since random people on the internet aren’t particularly good at dispensing mental health or relationship advice, or anything else that would truly make any difference in my train-wreck of an existence, and this subreddit heavily discourages people from doing so anyway, I want to unlock this one particular character from a children’s video game. The self-important mods on the Don’t Starve and gaming subreddits won’t let me post there on account of low karma, as if they’re protecting some sacred underground library from book-burning vandals. They seriously let some preteen post a tierlist about how racist he thinks each character is, but I can’t post a valid question about Adventure Mode, hence why I am here instead. Anyhow, I know that Wes has a chance to spawn on the third level if it isn’t Two Worlds, but I want to know how high that chance is. Is he guaranteed to spawn on a third level that isn’t Two Worlds, or have some of you been unlucky enough to still not find him. I literally died on Archipelago before I could map out the entire third level, and it’s made me swear off this game for a week. I want to know how close I came, and if I should even bother trying again.

And yes, I already know that dozens of wise-guys will lecture about doing more productive things, like getting a job (even though I was just laid off a month ago and have sent out a dozen applications to uncaring prospectively employers) or moving out of my elderly parents’ house (even though I was recently prescreened by my city’s public housing authority, and should be getting my apartment in less than a year, if things go off well.) Right now, there’s very little I can do about my circumstances, aside from applying and waiting. Gaming is my only escape.
