Firstly, the fact that the Influencer is the only role that cannot be countered by the Impostor is bothersome. Some could say that about Guardian Angel, but in my opinion the cooldowns make sense in a balanced lobby and don’t break the game too much.

For every other crewmate role like Detective, Judge, or Engineer, they can say “I’m the \[role\]!” and if they get killed by the Impostor, that’s their counter. The Influencer can openly state that and the Impostors either have to keep them alive, where they can chat freely, or kill them, effectively giving their identity away.

One counter to this would be the Mimic, but before explaining that, there’s the new “Pictures” button addition.

The button would save all influencer messages that were sent to that player, and would be openable anytime. It would be categorized with rounds as tabs, so if an Influencer sends a message to you in R1 but also R3, they would show up in different tabs.

Anyway, back to the Mimic. It is an impostor-ghost role that can send the same messages as the Influencer can to other players, which would initially look identical. The catch is that they decay slowly; after a certain amount of rounds (completely random) the messages in the Pictures menu would show visible signs of decay, indicating that those messages were false and sent by a Mimic. (decay could be overexposed film, inverted or glitched pictures.)
This ensures that decisions made by the Crew via a potential Influencer message are not hasty, forcing the Crew to think twice about if it makes sense and to connect the dots.

Additionally, there could be an extra cooldown applied, like the amount of Influencer messages per round (Camera battery?) to further nerf the Influencer.
Are there any other things you’d suggest? Let me know in the replies. Thanks for reading!

Influencer is broken. Here’s how I’d fix it.
