Universal credit

Those of you who work part-time and claim UC, please be honest-- is it worth it to work part-time? Is the money drastically different from the standard payment? I would like to work 16 hours whilst claiming UC (I will be studying at college), which is why I cannot work full-time at the moment. The standard pay for a single claimant is ridiculously low! I cannot live on it, but I cannot work full-time right now either.
