Most AI chat tools lock the good stuff behind a subscription. I kept hitting the same walls: search behind premium, image generation as an upsell, no memory between chats, and re-explaining my work every session.
So I built VIGIL GLM. (It was a project i started few years ago as a hobby to build my own AI but Google GPU renting for training the LLM was bankrupting me) Next best thing, build the tools for GLM based models, like an oversized swisarmy knife. (Jack of all trades pun)
Its not on the level of the big dogs but its getting there.
What it does:
- Remembers who you are across every chat. You can view, edit, and export everything it knows about you.
- Projects: workspaces with their own instructions, knowledge files, and memory, so your business context stays loaded.
- Scheduled digests: pick a topic and time, and it researches the web daily and emails you a sourced brief.
- Web search, image generation, document creation (PDF, Word, slides), audio transcription, voice conversation, and an OpenAI-compatible API on the same balance.
- Works on web, Android, and Linux desktop.
There's a free tier with a monthly credit allowance, no card needed. Pricing's on the site if you ever outgrow it.

I haven't built for Windows or Mac yet. Mac compatibility I'll have to research, not sure what that takes right now, I dont have a Mac and have no idea were to start with .dmg packaging.
I'm the solo builder and I try to read everything. There's a feature request option built into the settings, so if there's something you wish it did, tell me there or drop a comment and it goes on the list for next build.
