Is public healthcare cost too high?

Does anyone feel that public healthcare is expensive or is it just me?

Recently I visited polyclinic and A&E and I think the only acceptable rate is the normal consultation part which cost around $20. Some of the medication I have no idea it will cost around $20+ just to take it and they dispense so many to me and when I actually took it I don’t even have to complete the whole course to recover.

For my A&E visit, I was charged $171 which maybe I can understand since it’s an emergency but I’m still surprise it cost this much after subsidies and I have to folk this out by cash and can’t use medisave and the doctor ordered the same blood test I did the day before that cost $72 cause they said their system was down. Just felt a bit unfair on the test part when I did 2 blood test back to back and paid for it cause their system is down.
