Got reported today
So I work at Walmart in self-checkout, and I’m honestly pretty irritated about something that happened today.
Yesterday was a full month since I started working at Walmart.
I had been standing at self-checkout for a while and my feet were hurting, so I sat down at one of the registers while still staying alert and watching the area. Apparently, someone walking through saw me sitting and reported it to a team lead. The team lead reported it to someone else and then that person reported it to a manager (or wtv she was) at the Vision Center. Well call her Mrs. W.
Mrs. W eventually came over and talked to me about it. She said that she was told to keep an eye on me…
I explained that I had actually been given permission by a team lead yesterday to sit down as long as I stayed alert and got back up when the coach came around.
Mrs. W then went over to customer service to talk to someone about what I just told her, especially about what my team lead had said.
Keep in mind, when I sit down, I normally try to make sure it’s not busy in the area unless my feet are absolutely killing me.
So when she came back, I asked about the situation to get more information. That’s when she explained how someone snitched and how it escalated. She said that she was put in charge with monitoring me at someone else’s request.
Mrs. W proceeds to say that my team lead wasn’t doing her job correctly and I should apply for my team leads job. This kind of irritated me because I like my team lead and she’s super nice and understanding.
I don’t know, the whole process of how everything happened made me upset, emotional, and honestly I thought about quitting. I don’t want to get in trouble over this. I don’t want my team leads job getting in trouble either. I’m not there to make friends or please anyone, but I also don’t want to make somebody else’s job difficult and get them in trouble.
Has anyone else dealt with something similar at their store?
