Newbie here — is this a good time to start investing in Nifty 50?

Hey guys, I’m completely new to investing and honestly haven’t made a single penny from stocks or any other investment so far.
Since the Nifty 50 is currently down, I’m wondering if this is a reasonable time to start investing in it. If yes, what would be the better approach for a beginner — starting a monthly SIP, investing a lump sum, or something else?
I’m not looking to make quick money. I just want to start saving/investing properly and put my money in the right direction for the long term.
Would really appreciate it if experienced people here could share some advice. Please keep it beginner-friendly 😅
