Unrealistic wants and speculations about Spider-Man 5 and other MCU Spidey villains

With the introduction of Jean DeWolff in BND a lot of people have been wanting an adaptation of The Death of Jean DeWolff. Having that comic adapted to the big screen would be amazing and would also be a way to explore the intermingling of Peter’s life as Peter and Spider-Man but I think it’s way too early to do that storyline. We’ve only just met DeWolff and I think immediately killing her off wouldn’t be a smart choice nor would her death be all that impactful if that storyline was immediately adapted. I think we need another movie and a couple of mentions and or cameos of DeWolff in another films before we could do that storyline. Also the Sin-eater and or Wraith storyline seems better for a SPM6 film that acts as ending point for Tom!Spidey and the introduction of MCU!Miles Morales.

So aside from that who else could MCU Spidey villain. Venom is an obvious one and a choice that will likely happen post-Secret Wars but there a few other choices that may be good for SPM5.

The Hobgoblin is a pick that I’ve seen thrown around that I really think would make great film theory. Considering the connection the Hobgoblin has to both Mj and Ned ,with the original Hobgoblin being comic MJ’s former boss and the plot line of Ned becoming the Hobgoblin being the actual Hobgoblin manipulating and framing Ned,having the possibly to create a very interesting story.

Roderick Kingsley,the original Hobgoblin, was a amoral billionaire fashion designer who was MJ’s former employer who had became a villain after getting involved with Norman Osborn’s Green Goblin serum and user his powers to grow his financial empire beyond just fashion. He somehow brainwashed Ned Leeds into becoming the goblin and pinned all his crimes on Ned.

The Hobgoblin could be a good villain for a future installment because the MCU Spider-Man films mostly focus on villains that haven’t previously been done in live action before so a version of the Roderick Kingsley plot would work well in the MCU and also with the history the Hobgoblin has Mjned in the comics this could be a villain that hits on the “I’m both” thing in BND with the Hobgoblin being another villain that attacks the intersection of Peter’s two identities through both his friends.

The boss coworker connection with Kingsley and Mj would possible need to be changed since MCU!Mj isn’t a model so maybe you’d have to change it so that Kingsley is the boss of a non fashion related company or you could have it so Mj maybe takes up a few modeling gigs as a way to get quick cash in between looking for jobs in her major or have MJ’s new boyfriend work for Kingsley as like a fashion assistant gets wrapped up in the Hobgoblin that way.

The Hobgoblin Ned connection would be similar to the comics with Kingsley framing Ned and potential other people as the Hobgoblin.

In a hypothetical scenario where they IS a MCU!Harry introduced that could also work as a point of tension. In the video I mentioned above talking about MCU!Harry Peter being paranoid about Harry or Norman becoming his universes version of the Green Goblin was a point that YouTuber brought up and I think that would also be a plot point to explore in a case of MCU!Harry existing since there are universes where Harry is either New Goblin or a Hobgoblin variant.

Another villain that’s been thrown around in some SPM5 villain convos is Miles Warren.

There was some speculation pre-BND that Keith Davis would be playing The Jackel/Miles Warren which obviously didn’t turn out to be true but it’s an interesting angle.

Miles Warren was also a professor at ESU so like a possible Debra Whitman Peter could end up running into Warren if he ever decides to sneak back into ESU. Maybe Warren while he the teacher who replaces Bruce post-BND and maybe MCU!Warren will be obsessed with genetic splicing that created beings like the Hulk and turns into the Jackal due to that reason because even if there was an MCU!Gwen I don’t think they’d do the weird psychosexual thing that Warren had for her in the comics.

The final suggestion for future MCU Spidey villains I’ve seen are those involved in a gang war like storyline. Something similar to what happened in Daredevil where in the absence of Kingpin a bunch of gang leaders try to take over New York which is plot that could be rehashed in a new Spider-Man installment like post-Battle World in the absence of Spider-Man gangsters like the ManFredi,Tombstone,Hammerhead,and the such like battle for ownership of New York and the such like.

There was this Twitter post about hoping that genetics was theme of the new MCU Spider-Man films considering Peter’s mutations in BND in a similar vein of technology being a major factor in the Home Trilogy and I think that the villains listed above all have their own ways of playing into that theme in their own unique ways. Plus with the recent interview of Tom Holland saying he enjoins the Clone Saga genetics will likely play a large role in the post-BND trilogy.

Token Marvel character cameo would likely be Daredevil and the Fantastic Four which would be fun to see finally in live action. Would love to see how Peter interacts with Matt post him outing himself as Daredevil considering Peter getting outed is how they met the first time.

Peter’s invention of the inhibitor will def also play a role in future films but I just wanted to focus on characters and dynamics that I’m hoping for in future movies and I don’t real clear idea of how the inhibitor will play a role in the future. There was a suggestion that the DODC would paint Peter as a criminal because of him letting Jean get away so that could be the way the mutually thing remains an undercurrent in the new trilogy. There’s also the probability of the new trilogy allowing Peter to further mature to set up Miles which is another thing to consider but like that’s probably a SPM6 thing.
