Hear this crazy idea - “What if” the new mode had completely separate gear progression from PvP?
With the npc kill only mode coming later, I think one of the biggest concerns is how the loot/progression will work between npc killing and PvP.
What if we basically had two separate gear sets/stashes?
Npc killing only stash: Anything you earn in npc killing only stays in npc killing only.
PvP stash: Anything you earn in the normal PvP mode stays in PvP.
Your character progression could still be shared, but weapons, armor, materials, and loot would be tied to the mode where you earned them.
It would almost be like having two versions of the same character.
This would solve one of the biggest arguments against a Npc killing-only mode. People wouldn’t be able to farm the safer npc killing only mode for hours, build up an insane stash with basically no risk from other players, and then bring all of that gear into PvP.
At the same time, npc killing only players could enjoy the game their way without PvP players feeling like npc killing only farming is affecting the economy or progression of the original mode.
You want to build a stacked PvP stash? You have to earn it in PvP
You want to chill and build a massive npc killing only stash without worrying about other players? Go for it, but that gear stays in npc killing only.
Seems like a pretty simple way to let both types of players enjoy the game without one mode screwing with the progression of the other.
Thoughts?
