Is getting only 8 paid leaves an year normal?

I was recently got interviewed by a marketing company and everything went well for both parties until they mentioned about the leave structure. They said that I'll be getting only 8 paid leaves per year and I personally felt that it was too low. I just wanted to know whether it's normal for getting such a small number of leaves. How many leaves should I be ideally getting?
