BTS takes Song of the Year (Swim), Group of the Year and Best K-pop (Swim) at this years MTV Music Awards

Overall I’d say this is a strong result given all the bias against them. Best K-pop was the best minimum, but I’m very glad they also took home two “general” categories in Group of the Year and especially Song of the Year given MTV (like the Grammys) also blatantly segregates with stuff like Best K-pop, Best Latin, Best RnB etc to try and stop this from happening.

Lisa also won best Pop with “Dream”, which Id say is also a net positive for us given it features AM model Kentaro Sakaguchi.

It is suspicious that Swim can win both Song of the Year and Best K-pop but not even be nominated for the interim Best Pop though (Dream was nominated for both Best K-pop and Best Pop thus proving theyre not mutually exclusive). Besides Swim is an English song. In my mind the Best Pop deserves to belong to them too. So good on BTS for not physically attending. They certainly don’t tolerate bullshit
