I currently have an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-54 with:

* i5-9300H
* GTX 1650 4GB
* 16GB DDR4 RAM
* 512GB SSD
* 15.6" 1080p display

Someone offered me an **Alienware 17 R4** with:

* i7-6700HQ
* GTX 1070 8GB
* 16GB RAM
* SSD + HDD
* 17.3" 1080p display

The Alienware seems to be in good condition. The owner showed me videos of it running games and everything seems to work well.

However, **the battery was removed because it was heavily degraded**, so the laptop only works while connected to the charger.

My Nitro 5 also has some minor issues. The display has faint keyboard marks from being closed with the keyboard touching the screen, and one of the ports sometimes has connection problems.

I mainly use my laptop for **gaming and normal programming**, and I don't really care about battery life because I normally use it plugged in.

I'm mainly interested in the trade because of the **GTX 1070 8GB**, which should be significantly more powerful than my GTX 1650 4GB.

**Would you consider this a fair 1:1 trade?**

I'm especially interested in hearing from people who have owned an **Alienware 17 R4**. How durable has yours been? Are there any common problems I should check before making the trade?

Thanks!

Should I trade my Acer Nitro 5 for an Alienware 17 R4?
